FIRST TIME PARTICIPANTS

Art of Life's Paint It Forward Project is a once-in-a lifetime experience, created for ALL cancer survivors (men, women & children!), to co-create beautiful works of art that celebrate LIFE and inspire HOPE. No art experience is required, just a willingness to try something new.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, this is a FREE opportunity.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

WHEN: Majority of groups will come together for a “retreat-like” experience… meeting on two days back-to-back. For example, Friday night (6-8pm) and Saturday (1pm-5pm).

  • 3-5 Groups will meet at the same time, but in separated spaces, to offer an experience that builds camaraderie and support.  The first evening will act as a “kick-off” and the first opportunity to begin painting as a group.  The following day will be dedicated to completing the group’s art piece.  We recognize that this is a more concentrated experience, so your Artist Director will have prepared a specific direction for the piece in advance.

Groups: You will be placed into a group with 3-4 other cancer survivors and will collaborate on ONE canvas (Size: 24’x36”).

ART: When you registers for “Paint it Forward” you will have the opportunity to select messages of hope (from a list) that have been meaningful in your personal journey.  This allows us to partner you and other survivors in groups accordingly. We hope this personal information will help inspire your Artistic Director's design for the group’s art piece.

ART UNVEILEDThe finished artwork will be unveiled in local cancer centers throughout Fresno, with a special reception that highlights the survivors and their stories of hope.  A replica of your finished art piece will be featured at the Art of Life Healing Garden in Woodward Park. Your group's original canvas will be auctioned within the next year to "paint it forward" and allow another group of survivors to have the same opportunity.
